Swedish pole vaulting sensation Armand Duplantis etched his name further into history on Monday, March 7th, at the World Indoor Tour Silver event in Belgrade. The 22-year-old Olympic champion soared to an remarkable 6.19 meters, shattering the world record in the process.

This monumental achievement marks Duplantis’ third world record in pole vaulting, all accomplished indoors. His relentless pursuit of this particular height had spanned two years, with countless attempts culminating in this triumphant moment.

Duplantis’ journey to the record began with a confident clearance of 5.61 meters. He then effortlessly sailed over 5.85 meters and 6 meters on his first attempts, showcasing his remarkable skill and control.

Duplantis’ previous world records were set in February 2020, first clearing 6.17 meters in torun, Poland, and then surpassing it with a 6.18-meter jump in Glasgow just a week later.
