Due to the rivalry between Lens and Lille, the right piston of the France team Jonathan Clauss (29 years old, 2 caps) was whistled at the start of the game by the public at Stade Pierre-Mauroy against South Africa (5-0) this Tuesday in a friendly. Annoyed, the coach of the Blues Didier Deschamps did not appreciate this attitude of the spectators.

“I wanted him to be the most comfortable and the most relaxed. I find it unfortunate what happened in the first half. It goes against the France team. It didn’t prevented from playing. As the match went on, those who stupidly demonstrated with whistles lessened their impact. Thanks to what he was doing on the pitch. It’s his merit. (…) Afterwards, on the whistles, It should be a non topic. It has no place in a stadium. That’s why I took Jonathan out. I was convinced the whole stadium was going to salute him. I can understand a rivalry between clubs, the derbies. But I advocate unity with our players from different backgrounds. These people are not supporters. To talk about them is to give them even more importance. They do not have none”, lambasted the tricolor technician in front of the press.

The evening still ended well with applause to accompany the exit of Clauss in the 88th minute.
