“It will be a very hard job for me, but I’m used to it. My goals are not small and I’m already heading for the podium in my head. It’s a huge motivation for me to represent my family, my home, the Czech Republic,” Babíčková said in a press release.
The young racer, who until now worked mainly in go-karts, was approached by the championship organizers themselves. During the February tests in Arizona, in the monopost of the American version of Formula 4, she established herself in the company of fifteen riders among the top five. After that, she also succeeded in the cockpit of Formula 3 during the final races in Barcelona.
“Here, my dream came true. I succeeded in testing and was even selected to one of the largest W Series teams, the German Puma Motorsport,” said Babíčková, whose teammate is Finka Emma Kimiläinen.
The W Series is in its third year. There are eight races planned, for example in Barcelona, Silverstone or Hungaroring. The season will end at the end of November in Mexico. The title is defended by Jamie Chadwick from Great Britain, who succeeded three years ago. In 2020, the championship did not take place due to a coronavirus pandemic.
Roman Staněk is one of the Czech competitors in the Formula 3 series.
