Euro 2022 U17 qualifiers: Belgium beat Bosnia to advance to finals in Israel

This victory allows the Devils to finish second in group 4 and qualify for the final phase at sixteen which will be played from May 16 to June 1 in Israel. Spain, who won their third match 4-0 against Estonia, finished first with 9 points. With 6 units, Belgium is guaranteed to be among the seven best runners-up who accompany the eight group winners in the final tournament. Israel qualified as the host country.

On Tuesday, David Penneman’s players were reassured in the 7th minute when Enock Agyei opened the scoring. The Anderlechtois would still score two more goals (30th, 2-0 and 55th, 5-0) in this one-sided match. Meanwhile, an own goal from Zrnic (33rd, 4-0) and Ghent Malick Fofana (45th, 4-0) had changed the mark. Anderlechtois Luca Monticelli brought the final score to 6-0 (64th).

The last edition of Euro U17 was played in 2019, Belgium lost 3-0 in the quarter-finals to the Netherlands. The 2020 and 2021 editions were canceled by the Covid-19 pandemic. Belgium have reached the semi-finals of the competition three times in 2007, 2015 and 2018.
