MotoGP teams and riders are ready to start engines. The long-awaited season begins this weekend with the Qatar Grand Prix. From the race at the Losail Circuit, up to 20 more Grand Prix await the drivers who are playing for the world title. At ARA we make a guide with everything you need to know to enjoy it.
Honda
Once recovered from double vision, Marc Márquez begins the World Cup which must be his resurgence after a season full of injuries. Pol Espargaróinstead, will seek to ensure its continuity in Honda.
Aprilia Racing
Aleix Espargaró begins his 18th season in MotoGP leading a revolution and seeks, with the new help of Maverick Viñales, to take a step forward and be part of the leading teams on the grid.
Suzuki
For Joan Mir and Álex Rins, this season is key. Livio Suppo’s team must prove that the World Cup won by Mir two years ago was not a coincidence. Also, off the tarmac, tying the future of the two riders together is paramount.
LCR Honda
Honda’s new stage also begins for the satellite team. An Alex Márquez already fully acclimated to the highest category wants to consolidate, improve results and take a step forward accompanied by Takaaki Nakagami.
Monster Energy Yamaha
The brand new champion, Fabio Quartararo, faces the danger of the Ducati almost alone. After a 2021 in which it was more or less, the Frenchman will have the decaffeinated help of Franco Morbidelli to revalidate the title.
Ducati Lenovo
Pecco Bagnaia is running for the title. With Jack Miller as second on board, the official Ducati will be looking for the trophy they missed last season in the last race.
Pramac Racing
Ducati’s satellite equipment is anything but satellite. Jorge Martín, last year’s rookie and surprise, wants to present himself as a future bet for the official team ahead of his teammate, Johann Zarco.
Mooney VR46
The new team led by Valentino Rossi, which is making its debut far from the tarmac, is already underway. With Luca Marini, the little brother of the Rossi, and Marco Bezzechi, they are the third team with a motorcycle with Ducati performance.
Red Bull KTM
For the second year in a row, Francesco Guidotti’s team keeps the drivers on display. Brad Binder and Miguel Oliveira will be in charge of reviving the Austrian brand after a World Cup final in which it lost momentum.
TECH 3 KTM
Moto2 leaders last season made the leap to the top flight. Current champion Remy Gardner and Raúl Fernández continue with the German manufacturer’s team, but now on the KTM satellite team.
Gresini Racing
The fourth (and last) Ducati team will be driven by Enea Bastianini and Fabio Di Giannantoni. The structure, which was founded and raised by Fausto Gresini, returns to the top category after his death.
WithU Yamaha
The Yamaha satellite team is betting on a refurbishment this year. With him comes the return of Andrea Dovizioso after a year without a team and the jump of Darryn Binder directly from Moto3 to the queen category.

We tours
For the first time in World Cup history there will be 21 Grand Prix. With two premieres and several returns, the bikes will travel both hemispheres to obtain the desired champion trophy. The circuits of KymiRing (Finland) and Mandalika (Indonesia) will be premiered on the calendar, and the teams will return to Argentina, Japan, Thailand, Australia and Malaysia, events that were not disputed in 2021 by the pandemic.

Media return of Jorge Lorenzo
All World Cup races can be watched by DAZN. The platform, before the first Grand Prix of the season in Qatar, announced the incorporation of Jorge Lorenzo as a commentator. The five-time world champion (250cc in 2006 and 2007 and MotoGP in 2010, 2012 and 2015) retired in 2019 and will make his debut in this role this year. -
World full of Ducati
The season will feature a record Ducati figure. In addition to the official team (Ducati Lenovo), three more structures will have the fastest bike of last season. Not all, however, with the new version. The two pilots of Pramac and Luca Marini will have the 2022 model, while Bezzechi and the two of Gresini will maintain the 2021 model.

Brothers on wheels
The World Motorcycle Championship, again, is familiar ground for three pairs of siblings. The Marquez, both of whom are part of the Honda structure; the Espargarós, rivals since 2014; and the Binders, who meet for the first time in the queen category, remain on a grid where last year there were also the Rossi, a couple broken by the withdrawal of Il Dottore.
