Marconi Circuit: Accessibility Upgrades and New Schedules for Athletes

The Marconi Circuit in Fano is undergoing a transformation, becoming more accessible and accommodating to a wider range of users. Councilor for Sport Barbara Brunori recently unveiled a series of improvements aimed at enhancing the experience for athletes and residents alike.

One of the most significant changes is the increased accessibility for people with disabilities. Starting February 28th, the circuit will be open to everyone from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. Access will be granted through the side gate near the Tennis Club, with keys available from the Tennis Club manager. This initiative, supported by the CDH Documentation Center, aims to promote inclusivity and ensure that everyone can benefit from the circuit’s facilities.

in addition to improved accessibility, the Marconi Circuit will also see upgrades to its baseball field. A new fence will be installed to expand the playing area, providing Fano’s baseball teams with more space to train and compete in national championships.

Cycling enthusiasts will also benefit from revised schedules.Following the 2020 ordinance, tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, and Saturdays from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm will be dedicated to cyclists, including members of the Alma Juventus Fano cycling team. This dedicated time allows cyclists to train safely and effectively, preparing for upcoming competitions.

Moreover,Brunori emphasized the importance of safety, highlighting that the five streetlights overlooking Via Frusaglia will remain illuminated throughout the night. This measure enhances visibility and security for both motorists and pedestrians using the street, as well as for residents living nearby.

These improvements mark a significant step forward for the Marconi Circuit, transforming it into a truly inclusive and welcoming space for all members of the community. The upgrades are expected to be well-received by the many athletes, both amateur and professional, who regularly utilize this valuable sports facility.

Marconi Circuit Upgrades: A Chat with Local legend marco Rossi

Welcome back, sports fans! Today we’re diving reje into the exciting world of amateur sports with a local hero,Marco Rossi, former captain of Alma Juventus Fano’s cycling team. Marco, thanks for joining us!

Marco: My pleasure! Always happy to chat about cycling and the Marconi Circuit; it’s been a huge part of my life.

Host: The Marconi Circuit is seeing some big changes. Increased accessibility, new fences for the baseball field, dedicated cycling hours – what are your initial thoughts?

Marco: Honestly, it’s fantastic news! The accessibility upgrades are a huge win for inclusivity. Who doesn’t love seeing everyone, regardless of ability, enjoying the benefits of a sports facility? And the new baseball fencing? Great for those young athletes aspiring to play at the pro level. We gotta give them the space to train and dream big.

Host: You mentioned cycling hours. As a former cyclist yourself, how crucial is that dedicated time on the track?

Marco: Crucial! sharing the track with other users can be tricky sometimes. Dedicated hours ensure cyclists can train safely, focus, and really push themselves without worrying about unexpected obstacles.

Host: I see some have expressed concerns about limiting access for other users, like joggers and walkers, during those cycling hours.

Marco: it’s a valid point. Everyone needs access, but safety comes first. The track isn’t wide enough to accommodate everyone simultaneously without potential hazards. Maybe staggering the hours or creating a separate lane for pedestrians could address this concern?

Host: A potential solution indeed. Now, the Councilor for Sport, Barbara Brunori, also stressed the importance of the well-lit street bordering the circuit for nighttime visibility.

Marco: Absolutely essential, especially for those training during early mornings or evenings.Well-lit areas are safer for everyone – pedestrians, cyclists, and even those simply enjoying a stroll. It also adds a sense of security to the area, which is always a plus.

Host: So,you seem pretty excited about these changes!

Marco: I am! The Marconi Circuit has always been a hub for our community, and these upgrades will undoubtedly enhance its value for everyone, from seasoned athletes to weekend joggers. It’s a positive step towards making sports more accessible and enjoyable for all.
