The FC Bayern women’s footballers easily reached the semi-finals of the DFB Cup competition. On Monday they outclassed their league rivals FC Carl Zeiss Jena away 9:1 (5:1). Klara Bühl (9th, 39th), Jovana Damnjanovic (25th, 37th), Lina Magull (42nd), Saki Kumagai (55th), Viviane Asseyi (83rd) and Maximiliane Rall (88th) scored for the in master superior in all respects. There was also an own goal from Any Adam (77th). Also an own goal by Hanna Glas (40th) led to Jena’s consolation goal.
The Bayern players, who were last in a cup final in 2018 and lost to VfL Wolfsburg on penalties, determined the game from the start. Against FC Carl Zeiss Jena, who were missing important players due to corona infections, they had chances every minute. It was only thanks to Jena’s goalkeeper Inga Schuldt that the half-time lead for the guests was only 5:1. Even after that, the Bayern women, with whom coach Jens Scheuer changed, were overwhelmingly superior.
