Feyenoord wants to take over Dessers from KRC Genk, but asking price must be lower

Feyenoord-trainer Arne Slot keeps the options to Cyriel Desserts after this season at Feyenoord to keep open. Slot realizes that the chances for the Rotterdammers are nil financially, but leaves the door ajar.

Dessers was the celebrated man with the winning goal against PEC Zwolle (1-2). Of course, after the game, it was about Dessers, who must cost more than four million euros when Feyenoord finally takes him over from KRC Genk† “But who knows, sometimes it can be done in a detour”, says Slot at the press moment after the game.

“Look, for a top club, four million is not much for a striker in itself, but I have recently read reports that we often compete for players with FC Groningen, for example,” continues Slot, who knows in which pond Feyenoord is forced to fish: own youth. “That is the reality of Feyenoord.”

Technical director Frank Arnesen recently announced that the Rotterdam team cannot cough up four million euros for a player who is not sure of a base place. If Feyenoord wants to keep Dessers, Genk’s asking price will have to fall or money will have to come in the drawer.
