Finally some good news for Zion Williamson

Finally some good news for Zion Williamson

Even away from the courts, Zion Williamson’s 2021/22 fiscal year will have been eventful. Package since the start of the season due to a fracture of the fifth metatarsal of the right foot, which occurred last summer, the interior All-Star of the Pelicans has multiplied the relapses, as on December 2 last after two weeks of training with touch.

Back to square one, Zion Williamson had received an injection to accelerate the healing of his foot on December 16 before resuming his rehabilitation away from Louisiana, near Portland since January 6.

Away from the field, he also drew the wrath of JJ Redick who had pointed out his lack of involvement in the arrival of CJ McCollum in New Orleans, before being defended by his new teammate.

No planned return date yet

Suffice to say that the good news has not been much in recent months for the former jewel of Duke. Until this press release from the Pelicans published on Thursday, which reports a “improved bone healing” of his player. The bayou franchise specifies that Zion Williamson will gradually turn to bodybuilding exercises before returning to the courts for strictly “basketball” activities.

The player remains unavailable for an indefinite period but in a difficult season like the one Zion Williamson is experiencing, all good news, even minimal, is good to take. A return this season remains unlikely, however, even if New Orleans is still in the running to compete in the “postseason”.

“We are all delighted with the results, with the fact that he is progressing. But he still has a long way ahead of him. He knows it, but he goes through the necessary steps to progress. We’ll see how it evolves.”said Willie Green.
