This means that the Italian national team has the potential to appear in the 2022 World Cup even though it was eliminated by North Macedonia in the semifinals of the 2022 World Cup Qualification playoffs in the European zone.
According to Italian media reports, Sportmediaset, the Italian national team has the potential to qualify if Iran is disqualified by FIFA.
