Football: Grenoble – Rodez, the keys to the match

Rodez (16th) moves to Grenoble (18th) this Saturday (7 p.m.), on behalf of the 28th day of Ligue 2, with the ambition to finally return to victory after ten matches in a row without success, including five defeats.

Now that the pass of ten has been reached, the Ruthenians want to avoid equaling their sad record. That of having chained fourteen meetings without success, including six lost, from the beginning of October 2020 to the beginning of January 2021. Of the ten in progress, Rodez is at five after that conceded during the reception of Auxerre (1-3) Saturday March 5.

The trip to Grenoble on Saturday at 7 p.m., on the occasion of the 28th day of Ligue 2, therefore appears to be particularly tense. Especially since blood and gold have never won at the Stade des Alpes in this division (two defeats in as many oppositions).

But the coach of Raf Laurent Peyrelade can count on the return of central defenders Julien Célestine, ill last weekend, and Joris Chougrani, who had relapsed from his calf injury on February 6, as well as that of the striker Florian David, hit in the hamstrings in mid-February.

Injured in the same place and in an individual session this Friday morning in Vabre, center-forward Clément Depres and midfielder Enzo Zidane are forfeited. Number two goalkeeper Thomas Secchi, victim of a crutch during the session, as well as central defenders Pierre Bardy, suspended, and Amiran Sanaia, who is treating cancer, will not be on the trip either.

For their part, the Grenoble residents, remaining on a victory, will have to do without defender Adrien Monfray, defensive midfielder Manuel Perez, winger Abdoulie Sanyang, injured, and playmaker Axel Ngando, suspended. But they recover attacking midfielder Florian Michel.
