Forlì still records: this time in attack – Sport

by Simone Casadei

Basketball 2.015 played the fifth consecutive symphony. The one obtained on Sunday afternoon on the Eurobasket Rome, moreover, is a particularly pleasant melody. For the ranking, of course, but also for the way it has matured. Yes, because Forlì, in a long-held and deservedly won match, first of all stood out for the offensive performance of its men. Almost trying to go beyond, for once, the score of aggression and energy in their own half.

Against the Capitoline, in fact, Unieuro scored the beauty of 101 points, crossing the threshold of 100 for the first time this season. An important goal by definition, which the hosts have been able to build in every single quarter of the match. With only the ‘defection’ of the second set (18 points scored, compared to 27 suffered), in the remaining three fractions the red and white managed to target 27.7 points every 10 ‘.

The numbers, after all, speak for themselves. Forlì even shot with 61% of the pitch: it is the highest percentage of his entire regular season. To do so, Giachetti and his teammates finished with an impressive 66% from 2 points (equaled the best pre-Christmas performance against Nardò: at that time, however, 35 shots were attempted, on Sunday they were 41), making their mark in particular under the boards with Lucas’ longs and raids. The result is a sparkling 2228 within the painted area (79%). Not to mention the 24 team assists, equally distributed in the first and second half. Before Sunday, Forlì had never managed to go beyond the 21, recorded in the seasonal debut, last October, on the Chieti field.

Going even more specifically, a detail of the third fraction – when Forlì took off again, eventually reaching +19 – is really relevant. Upon returning from the locker rooms, in fact, Unieuro started shooting from the bow (50% at the final siren), with great success. From 29% of the first 20 ‘, at the end of the third period the calculation of the 3-pointers marked an excellent 54%, the result of a 56 in the third quarter alone, inserted in the framework of a partial 1116 from the field. From a further red circle, then, the conclusions approaching. In the second half Forlì did not miss even a shot in the area (1010).

In short, never as this time the numbers do not lie. And with five men in double figures, two more who came close (Pullazi 9, Bolpin 7), the two foreigners were able to make the difference throughout the game. Rush and Lucas finished with 42 combined points: 23 for the Swede, 19 for the former Spartans, complete with 10 invaluable assists.

Never before has Basketball 2.015 obtained such a booty from its Americans: Hayes and Carroll stopped at 37 against Fabriano, while Erik and Lucas, a few weeks ago against Ferrara, scored 36. No pair of foreigners from the Red group has been able to do better in the past three weeks. To come across such a performance, it is necessary to go back to the 56 of the Ferrarese Pacher and Mayfield at the beginning of March. Even in that case, the unfortunate Eurobasket suffered the fury of the opposing duo.
