Stephen Curry cleared the 20,000-point hurdle and was the deciding man in the Golden State Warriors’ 113-102 at western rival Denver Nuggets. The superstar scored 24 of his 34 points after the half-time break. The “Dubs” ended the game with a 13-0 run and denied league MVP Nikola Jokic another triple-double for the home side for an assist (23/12/9).

Curry, who turns 34 on March 14, currently ranks 49th with exactly 20,006 points in the all-time list of top basketers, led by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387), Karl Malone (36,928) and LeBron James ( 36.743) is cited. Some serious injuries in his career prevented Curry from getting a better place in this ranking, which shows Dirk Nowitzki (31,560) in sixth place.

Welcome Ben Simmons!

In the first game against their ex-colleague James Harden, the Brooklyn Nets surprisingly easily won at the Philadelphia 76ers, who in turn welcomed their former player Ben Simmons. The guard is still suffering from a back injury, so he came into the arena in civilian clothes and was eagerly booed.

Harden was weak in throwing (3 out of 17 from the field) with the clear 100:129 of his sixers and therefore powerless against the performance of his former team around Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. At half-time the guests were already leading 72:51 and with a dominant third quarter eliminated all remaining doubts about victory.

“We did a good job of not fouling,” said Durant, who had 25 points. Irving got 22, Seth Curry, who was sent to Brooklyn from the 76ers as part of the Harden move, got a whopping 24 points.

Consolation prize: Harden passes Miller

Harden, meanwhile, was stuck with just 11 points and six assists, but still overtakes Reggie Miller in the all-time best list of three-pointers specialists and is now third behind Steph Curry and Ray Allen. The best pitcher for “Philly” was Joel Embiid with 27 points.

In the tight fight for the best playoff spots in the Eastern Conference, the loss was a sensitive setback for the 76ers, who are third at 40:25. The Nets, eighth with a slightly positive record of 34:33, got some breathing room and still have hope of a direct qualification for the knockout phase of the season.
