GIAVENO / ROME – The Italian Judo Championships for the Under 18 Cadet classes took place in Rome (Ostia) at the Palafiljkam on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 March. Nicolò Manusia category went to defend the colors of the Giaveno Judo Academy 66 kg and Angelica Feltro category 63 kg.
In the very crowded 66 kg category, 90 competitors, the young athlete Manusia, number one on the ranking list, confirms himself as a top-level champion with a margin of growth that can still reserve great satisfactions in the future. Thanks to a beautiful and determined race conduct, Nicolò wins 6 matches that propel him to compete in the final. Final of the highest level in which our Torello, 13 seconds from the end of 4 minutes, launches a decisive attack which unfortunately ends with a small mistake by Nicolò which will be decisive on the final result. This excellent performance, in addition to winning a well-deserved silver medal, automatically qualifies him to the national final of the superior category, the juniores, and to the next Absolutes in Turin but above all it keeps him and confirms him at the top of the National judo with the possible call-up in the Cadet National team (under 18) in the next International competitions.
Maestro Marco Manusia can only be happy with the great result of his son Nicolò and the overall growth path of the young company from Giaveno that he wisely directs. Also on Sunday, the presence in the Race for the colors of the Judo Academy of Angelica Feltro, an athlete who grew up in the Giavenese nursery, should be noted. Unfortunately Angelica, after having finished in first place last weeks in Piedmont in the qualifying phase, is unable to confirm the good performance by coming out in the first round in a category with 50 athletes competing. Unfortunately our Torella is unable to control the tension and pressure of her first experience in a National Final, perhaps due to her young age and lack of experience in competitions after a long stop due to the pandemic. However Angelica adds another important step to her competitive career.
At the end this weekend he again confirmed Giaveno in the limelight of the sport, again thanks to Judo and his company Accademia Giaveno Judo.
Congratulations to the great Nicolò, to Angelica and to Maestro Marco and to all his “supporters”: the magnificent Torelli who supported us with their affection and warmth.
