Hello Attilio, how did the company move during the winter?
The winter season just ended, was, as for all, very difficult because of this pandemic, which we all hope is in the process of being resolved. The management of the winter preparation was complicated by infections and the need to carry out the visits for the “return to play ”provided for by the CONI and FIBS regulations.
Since the end of January the team has been training in more or less complete ranks and preparation, about a month before the championship, it has come to the point that it will allow us, from next Sunday, to start the technical activity in the field. It should be noted that this winter there was a precious return to the technical staff of Daniele Fuzzi. The rest of the technical staff has been confirmed, starting with the manager Stefano Naldoni, the pitching coach Gianluca Poli and the coaches Luis Hernandez, Luca Servidei, Daniel Orselli as well as the aforementioned Daniele Fuzzi. Also confirmed is the physiotherapist Aldo Valerioti assisted by Davide Montanari.
How is this year’s squad structured? Will there be new purchases? If yesìare there already official agreements?
For the 2022 championship, all the members of last year’s team have been confirmed, apart from Erik Gelli, Paolo Brezzo, Shakir Albert, Jose Rodriguez and Francesco Fuzzi (sold on loan to Fortitudo Bologna). The agreement with the Ravenna baseball, and the Byzantine teams, organized in synergy between Godo and Ravenna, we have identified 5 athletes who, according to the agreements between the clubs and according to the needs of Serie B Ravenna and Serie A di Godo, will be included in both squads and will be used according to contingent needs.
These athletes are, in alphabetical order: Casadio Antonio, Christian Lakes, Filippo Lakes, Orselli Manuel and Piolanti Simone.
We have also reached an agreement with Castenaso for the loan of the left-handed pitcher born in 1994 Cannellini Davide, who boasts numerous appearances in the top flight and has already played Godo with the under 21 team in 2014.
We reached an agreement with Giuseppe Gabriel Grado, a left-handed pitcher born in 2003, from Venezuela with an Italian passport, on his first experience in the Italian league.
In the dearth of Albert in the batter’s box, the company has reached an agreement with Luis Vallejo, born in 2000, Venezuelan with Spanish passport, external role and utility who has played in the last two seasons in the Spanish top league.
The negotiations for the arrival of a foreign pitcher, who will complete the squad’s roster, are also at an advanced stage.
So what are the seasonal goals of the company?
We have set ourselves two goals for this season: the insertion and growth of new talents from the Byzantine nursery, and the dispute of the second phase between the best 8 teams in the league. We believe that the work done so far has put the technical staff in a position to achieve both objectives.
