‘s-Hertogenbosch – Show jumper Daniel Deußer has secured the Grand Slam bonus of 250,000 euros for the first time.
The 40-year-old professional won the ‘s-Hertogenbosch Grand Prix, receiving 231,000 euros for it and, as the winner of the Aachen Grand Prix, also receiving the bonus from the series.
The Hesse, who has lived in Belgium for several years, rode in the saddle of Tobago like five other couples in the jump-off without fault, but was the fastest with 37.90 seconds. The Dutchman Harrie Smolders with Monaco (38.03) and Willem Greve with Grandorado (38.40) followed in second and third place. The second best German starter in the Netherlands was Marcus Ehning from Borken, who rode faster than Deusser on Stargold (37.48), but only finished eighth because of a knockdown.
In addition to Aachen and ‘s-Hertogenbosch, the Grand Slam of show jumping also includes the tournaments in Geneva and in Spruce Meadows, Canada. Anyone who wins three of these tournaments in a row will receive a bonus of one million euros.
