The National Basketball Association’s (NBA) 76-year-old Philadelphia 76ers Danny Green shared the dramatic departure of Ben Simons from Philadelphia.
On the closing day of the NBA shift, Ben Simons changed teams as he took over the Brooklyn “Nets” with Seth Curry, Andre Dramond and two future first-round drafts, while James went to Philadelphia’s previous 76 “Philadelphia 76ers.” Harden and Paul Milsaps. The 25-year-old Australian, as a member of the 76ers, openly expressed a reluctance to represent the Philadelphia club and did not participate in games and training.
Green found that Simons changed his phone number without informing anyone on the team, did not answer text messages or calls from team members, and did not talk to anyone until the training camp. “I think we all tried to contact him at different times,” Green said. “I tried, but I think his number might have changed by then. I contacted him personally and said that we could still change everything. Let’s sit down and talk. I sent him a few text messages. ”
Simons’ former teammate found that none of the team received any response from the Australian until he unexpectedly joined the 76ers training camp. “I haven’t heard from him since. I’m talking to Joel [Embīdu] unu Tobiasu [Harisu]. I talked to most of the guys all summer and tried to get in touch with Simon, but I didn’t get any response, ”said Green. “The last few times I tried to contact you by text message to make an appointment – but I didn’t get a response again.”
Green revealed basketball players in the locker room were discussing what could be replaced by Simons, but they didn’t expect a James Harden caliber player in return. The 76ers also joked that they felt insecure because one of them might be involved in Simon’s exchange and leave Philadelphia. According to Green, the “76ers” are looking forward to the next game against the Brooklyn “Nets” and are not surprised that Simmons will not play on the court.
Simons has not played a match since last year’s playoffs. He has not yet made his debut as a member of the new team since the change to Simons from 76ers to Nets. Green, meanwhile, joined the 76ers in 2020 after winning two consecutive NBA championships in the Raptors of Toronto and the Lakers of Los Angeles.
