Now the manager speaks!
Fredi Bobic (50) answered questions about the hottest problems at Hertha on Tuesday morning: the sporting descent. The question of whether coach Tayfun Korkut (47) will continue. And the immediate separation from sports director Arne Friedrich (42), which the club announced on Monday evening.
Bobic on Friedrich’s departure: “He can no longer find himself in the role he wants. It was difficult for him to have an influence, also in the perception of the players.” And further: “It was clear that I could no longer fully involve him in many decisions affecting the future of Hertha. That’s legitimate.”

Bobic via Korkut: “We didn’t ask the players in conversation: Is it still the right coach? The players have realized that they are the problem and have to be honest with themselves. We’re not a team at the moment, you have to say that clearly. That scared us and the team has to deal with it. The tablecloth is not cut, the coach reaches the team.”
Nevertheless, Bobic also knows that Hertha needs success that can be counted quickly. The announcement of the manager: “The coach knows that we have to score points at the weekend, that’s inevitable. We need a wagon mentality.”
That sounds like an ultimatum to the coach.
Either way: Hertha needs points, otherwise the Berliners will be relegated.
