Self up to the third year of professionalism
──We are challenging the outfield in earnest from this spring camp.
“To somehow get regular this year. At present, I know that it is difficult to get regular with a catcher. Outfield (Suzuki) Seiya is gone, and (because of Ryoma Nishikawa’s delay), the current situation is vacant. First of all, I am working on hitting and defending, aiming for that so that I can play in the game. “
──Is it because you played 39 games in the 1st Army last year that you became more particular about participating in games than you were particular about catchers?
“That’s right. Until then, I was in the second army for almost three years, and I was more worried about when I could get up. In the meantime, last year I was allowed to play 39 games in one army. I thought. On the stage of the 1st army, the desire to play baseball became even stronger in that large crowd. “
── Looking back, how do you feel about yourself until the third year?
“When I was told that I was seriously facing baseball … I had a lot of thoughts that I wanted to go play somewhere. I didn’t feel it. I feel again that I’m lacking in my efforts. I also had that kind of experience, and by playing in the first team game last year, I gradually became aware of it. “
── You were mentally weak.
“It was sweet and weak. I wasn’t motivated to practice, and maybe I wasn’t serious about baseball.”
