“I was rejected by Ciccio Graziani for Campioni. The audition was a circus”

Ciccio Caputo spoke to Cronache di Spogliatoio telling that he tried to become part of the Italia Uno broadcast Championswith Ciccio Grazianiwho played the championship of excellence with the aim of proposing players also to the greats of the championship

“I auditioned for Champions but they never called me back. One day he calls my best friend Nicola and tells me ‘Ciccio, I’ve signed up for the sample audition for Campioni, let’s go together to Cava dei Tirreni. You’ve tried them all, try this too. ‘ I was super against it, I preferred to stay in excellence in Altamura rather than be champions. The doors in the face, however, began to be many and in the end I decided to try this path too. We get there and there was the grandstand of the stadium full of boys. There were 200 of us. On the pitch there were obstacles everywhere, strange paths.

They asked you to do dribbles, shots on goal, it looked like the circus. There was Ciccio Graziani yelling at everyone, then Magrini next to him. When it was my turn I made the course: slalom, dribble, shot on goal and then they told me to go. I was interviewed in a stand on the sideline. They tell me “If you are caught we will call you”. I have not received any phone calls of course. Thinking back today I get a giant smile, if I look back I realize that I’ve really tried it all “
