The event was to be held in February in Lahti (Finland) but was postponed due to the global pandemic situation.
As explained the Spanish Badminton Federation in a statement«The assignment of this event to Ibiza has been possible thanks to the involvement of the Consell Insular de Ibiza and the Ibiza Town Hall, institutions that support the organization of a tournament of recognized prestige at a continental level and that will serve to promote grassroots sport and to promote the island as a tourist and sports destination.
