Ice hockey – EHC Munich wins narrowly – Sports

EHC RB Munich has extended its winning streak in the German Ice Hockey League. On Friday evening, the Munich team won their home game against the Fischtown Pinguins from Bremerhaven 1-0, celebrating their fifth win in a row and moving very close to second-placed Adler Mannheim in the table. Frank Mauer scored the goal on the counter (34th). The Munich team had more of the game from the start, but were repeatedly stopped by the strong Bremerhaven goalkeeper Maximilian Franzreb, who was voted the best goalkeeper in the DEL2 last season at the Tölzer Löwen. Yasin Ehliz (12th), Ben Street (27th) and Mauer (39th) failed with their solo efforts against Franzreb, EHC captain Patrick Hager hit the crossbar (35th) after a counterattack with a man down. Munich goalkeeper Danny aus den Birken celebrated his second clean sheet of the season. On Sunday, the Munich team will be visiting the Krefeld Penguins (2 p.m.).
