Important victory for the Under14 Elìte of Olimpia Milano who beat Varese Basketball at the Sport Village of Assago, at the end of an exciting and full of emotions match. Along the same lines as the first leg in Masnago, won by the guests, it takes an extra time for the red and white of the house to get the better of the same age in Varese. The first half is very balanced: Milan is precise and determined, but Varese is always ready to reply, led by a well-dressed Zanitelli; at the sound of the second siren only two pitches separate the two formations (40-38 Milan). In the second half of the match, the Milanese try to escape and thanks to a more impenetrable defense, they extend the advantage over 12 lengths. Undeniable the response of the guests, who still led by one on one of Zanitelli, hang up the race returning to a draw when there are a few laps to go. Milan does not give up and does not break down and even has the possibility of closing several times, but it wastes; for its part Varese does not take advantage of it. We then go to overtime where the young players in Olimpia, with the last remaining strength, make the 15-9 run which is worth the victory over 86-80 and the conquest of second place in the group standings.

In the second period, the response of the hosts is not long in coming, defending the painted with intensity. The red and white attack is content to shoot, building a little team and breaks up in defense, leaving Desio with the inertia of the match. We go to the interval with the Brianza players at a distance of 30-32. In the second half, greater attention to detail lays the foundations for Olimpia’s escape, which extends to +15 and wisely manages the pace of the race, especially in the last portion of the game, winning the period by 10 points. At the last siren on the luminous scoreboard the score is 58-75 for Olimpia Milano who remain at full points.

Nice home win at the edge of the siren in the C Silver championship. A hard-fought and never predictable match also thanks to the performance of Basket Sedriano who managed, with determination and stubbornness, to never let the boys of coach Caspani take off. The victory basket was found 3 ”from the end by a concrete Trovarelli; he and his teammates had the merit of playing a solid and athletic game. Tough match, also from the point of view of game contacts, both on one side and the other, never resulting in unsportsmanlike behavior. The C Silver championship is proposed to our young players with the intention of offering a taste of senior basketball to complete the growth path. And the match against Sedriano was a tangible example of this.
