A New Era for DIM: Adidas Unveils Striking Kits for the 2022 Season
On March 8th, Colombian football club Deportivo Independiente Medellín (DIM) ushered in a new chapter, partnering with global sportswear giant Adidas for the 2022 season. This marks the end of an 11-year partnership with Puma and signifies a bold step forward for the “Powerful Mountain” club.
The unveiling of the new kits, designed with Adidas’ signature three-stripe motif, generated meaningful excitement among fans.The home jersey boasts a classic red base with white lateral stripes, complemented by the conventional DIM shield and logos in crisp white. The away kit features a sophisticated dark blue hue accented with white trim.
Both jerseys incorporate Adidas’ innovative Aeroready technology, ensuring optimal breathability and moisture-wicking capabilities for peak performance on the field. Moreover, the garments are crafted from recycled materials, reflecting adidas’ commitment to sustainability and environmental duty.
“After years of supporting Colombia’s most iconic clubs, we aim to solidify our position as the leading sports brand for fans and players nationwide,” stated Juan Motta, Marketing Director of Adidas Colombia. “We understand the culture, dreams, and aspirations of Colombian football, and we’re dedicated to providing gear that embodies these values.”
Daniel Ossa Giraldo, Executive President of El Equipo del Pueblo SA, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership: “We are incredibly proud to welcome Adidas to the DIM family. This collaboration elevates us to the elite level of global sports sponsorships. Our passionate fans, who wear the DIM shirt with immense pride, will now experience the quality and innovation of Adidas. Together, we will embark on a new journey of triumphs and unwavering support.”
The four-year agreement between DIM and Adidas will see the new kits available for purchase starting March 9th through the Adidas and DIM websites, priced at $209,900 COP. From March 10th, fans in Medellín and select stores in Bogotá can also get their hands on the new jerseys.
