Deportivo Independiente Medellín thrashed Águilas Doradas 4-0, on the ninth date for the I-2022 League. The Antioquian team provided spectacle and goals to their fans, with a strong team. The powerful goals were from Felipe Pardo, Jean Pineda, Adrián Arregui and Luciano Pons. For Leonel, a streak of two consecutive wins was cut short.
Clear night for a vibrant meeting between Medellín and Águilas Doradas. Both teams went out in search of the opposite goal, but it was difficult for them to settle on the pitch.
It was at minute 6, that Adrián Arregui with a shot outside the area, had to open the scoring, but the ball was deflected over the goal of Cristian Vargas. A minute later, Marco Pérez made a header after an overflow by Jhon Fredy Salazar.
On the 22nd, Medellin once again approached the goal of Águilas Doradas, this time with a shot by Jean Pineda that passed near the vertical of Vargas’s right hand.
As the minutes progressed Águilas advanced with the ball dominated, but Medellín managed to control the game, it was at minute 25 that Felipe Pardo took advantage of an overflow from the right sector and after a shot with his right leg and a rebound off the crossbar, he returned to drop the ball, scoring the first goal of the match.
After the goal, Águilas went out to find the tie, at minute 29, Juan Camilo Salazar had a goal opportunity, but his shot went well over the local goal.
At minute 32 and after a collective play that started from the right sector, Jean Pineda from the left sector and with his right leg, increased the advantage on the scoreboard for Independiente Medellín.
At the end of the first half, a foul on Juan David Mosquera that the referee did not sanction, led to the VAR check. Two minutes after the time served, Diego Escalante did not penalize the infraction.
In the complementary stage, Medellín came out to settle the match. Águilas could not associate and simply dedicated himself to enduring the onslaught of the premises.
At minute 15, Adrián Arregui from medium distance was close to the third, but the ball passed very close to the horizontal. About minute 23 and after a free kick, Adrián Arregui with a cross shot scored the third for the powerful, showing the comfort in a game that the DIM gave him.
Four minutes later, the Argentine Luciano Pons scored the fourth goal for DIM, unleashing the euphoria of the nearly 24,000 red fans who attended the Atanasio.
Averaging the second half, Medellín made the five changes, refreshing the team, thinking about the Antioquia classic next Sunday. While playing time was running out, the desire to beat Nacional on the next date sounded from the stands.
Águilas tried to defend himself, while looking for some carelessness of the DIM to discount the score. For the locals, it was practically a training session with the public, the game was over and they were just waiting for the referee to finish the match.
On the next date, Independiente Medellín will face Atlético Nacional in the Antioquia classic. While Águilas Doradas receives Envigado in Rionegro.
