The next tournament will be held on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 March 2022, the III School League will be held, a scoring competition for the school ranking, in its sub-17 and sub-15 categories and which will take place in all its modalities (individual male and female , men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles) and where the best players in our city will meet. The main course of the first semester will be on Saturday, April 2 and Sunday, April 3, 2022: IV Sánchez Mota Memorial, a scoring tournament for the Ranking, both absolute and school. It will be played in all modalities and there will be two age groups, under-17 and senior (over 17).

The competition model will be established in the form of an elimination bracket and in the order of the current ranking. It is expected to have the presence of peninsular teams (Málaga, Granada, Huelva), as well as the Autonomous City of Ceuta. And if possible, as on previous occasions, with the presence of teams from Morocco, although it seems very difficult. Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 June 2022: IV School League, scoring competition for the school ranking, in its sub-17 and sub-15 categories and which will take place in all its modalities (men’s and women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles).

Through the school ranking, the sub-15 and sub-17 pre-selection will be carried out, which will allow the definitive preparation of the regional teams, both Sub-15 and Sub-17, to attend the Championship of Regional Selections that this year will be held in Santander during the days June 23 to 26. It should be noted that this sports modality is on the rise among all sports lovers in general in our city, since with the passing of the different sporting events, there are more who are joining their participation.

Discover Project

The Melilla Badminton Federation, which is attached to the Discover project (Programming of activities for disabled people for their inclusion in the sport of badminton at the national level), developed, on Wednesday, February 23, at San Lorenzo Beach, and in the sports facilities of the Autonomous City of Melilla, an activity with students from the Gámez Morón Center, consisting of an introduction to the practice of Air Badminton, an outdoor Badminton sports activity, in which fifteen of its members participated.

These activities were supervised and directed by two National Monitors attached to the Melilla territorial and we can consider it more than satisfactory, fulfilling all the objectives proposed in the programming. It must be remembered that together with the Gámez Morón Center, the other two Associations from Melilla, Aspanies Plena Institución and CEE Reina Sofia, are registered in this project.
