Poblano grab. In an authentic match play between local players, Isidro Benítez won the title of stage 9 of the 2021-22 season of the IV Prissa Cup Professional Golf Tour presented by Maestro Dobel Tequila corresponding to the DevSeries of the PGA Tour Latin America.
The 23-year-old left-hander won his third victory in the Professional Golf Tour by accumulating a score of 202 strokes, 14 under par, one less than Jorge Villar, also from Puebla, who was in charge of adding emotion to the end of the round with an extraordinary birdie on the last hole.
“It was an unparalleled match, the truth is that Jorge Villar played incredible, we have to congratulate him a lot, he is a great player, we have to keep an eye on him because he will surely do very interesting things. Sharing this tournament final with one of my best friends is priceless”, said Isidro Benítez, winner at Santa Anita and Puebla in 2019-20 and now again at the Campestre in the capital of Puebla.
“I am very happy, this tour is boosting us all, it helps us get money to travel to other events. It is my third victory, I have lost two tournaments in playoffs, I have been close for a long time”, added the member of the PGA Tour Latin America.
“The key was to follow my game plan, trust the putter, the ball rolled excellent, the truth is that I played very solid,” added Benítez. “We had a lot of fun at the end, it was a round of a lot of pressure, but luckily things came back to me here at home”.
