The stage was set for a dominant performance in the final, but a false start resulted in Jacobs’ disqualification. This unfortunate turn of events allowed Slovakia’s Jan Volko, a three-time European medalist in the event, to claim victory with a time of 6.69 seconds.

Zaynab dosso continued her impressive form, securing victory in her 60-meter heat with a convincing time of 7.20 seconds. This performance was just four-hundredths of a second shy of her recently established Italian record. Dosso further solidified her dominance by winning the final with a time of 7.21 seconds.
Ponzio Makes his Mark in Shot Put
Nick Ponzio, an American-born athlete with Italian heritage, delivered a remarkable performance in the shot put, shattering the Italian indoor record. His throw of 21.61 meters surpassed Leonardo Fabbri’s previous record of 21.59 meters set in 2020.
this achievement comes just weeks before the Indoor World Championships in Belgrade, where Ponzio will be a strong contender for a medal. his performance places him sixth in the world rankings for the season, trailing only the American record holder and Olympic champion Ryan Crouser.
