Strong milestone in the career of Jelle Vossen (32). On Saturday, the striker scored his 150th goal in the Jupiler Pro League against Eupen. He ends up in a penalty list with the best shooters. “And say that when I was 15 I already dreamed of just playing 150 matches in the first division”, laughs Vossen.
From Genk to Zulte Waregem: Jelle Vossen was always and everywhere a guarantee of goals.
The sum of all his hits touched a special figure last weekend: number 150 in the Jupiler Pro League.
“A great honor”, Vossen beams a few days later. “And say that when I was 15 I just dreamed of playing 150 matches in first division. And now I have scored 150 goals…”
I hope there are many more goals to come.
Numbers show how punishing that milestone is. Barely nine others – see the list below – previously managed to score 150 times in the Belgian first division.

Top 3 most beautiful goals
When you score so often, it is of course difficult to choose which hits are the most special.
“My best three goals?”, laughs Vossen. “Then put my bicycle kick against KV Kortrijk at one. That was my most spectacular.”
In addition, the striker also opts for a goal with Genk against Cercle Brugge. A ball that comes from the right and he kicks in in one time. “People have often called that a typical Jelle Vossen goal because I have made many that way.”
He concludes his list with a goal while playing for Cercle Brugge against Beerschot. After a check with his chest, Vossen blasted the ball unstoppably past the goalkeeper. “I was still a very young guy at the time who still had to prove myself,” he says. “That’s why that goal is in my top 3.”

But of course Vossen’s very first goal will remain etched in his memory forever. The then 17-year-old Limburger opened his account with a goal against Roeselare as a substitute.
“At that moment you don’t know what will come your way in your career. Now we are 149 goals further and that goal was the start of something beautiful.”
