Honestly, when stepping up to the penalty spot, there’s a sense of focus that takes over. You’re in the moment, trained to block out everything else.
That near-goal from the halfway line, tho! I’ve got to ask, what was going through your mind there? Were you aiming for that highlight-reel moment?
Jelle Vossen: [chuckles] Scoring from halfway woudl have been the icing on the cake, no doubt. It would have been an unforgettable goal. But I spotted nurudeen a bit out of position, and with the confidence I was feeling, I thought, why not go for it? ultimately, it’s the 150th goal that counts, but a bit of audacity never hurt anyone, did it?

Jelle Vossen: It’s been a journey. In the early years, it was all about raw passion and drive. Now, there’s a layering of experience, tactical awareness, and, dare I say, a bit of craftiness.

Thank you. I believe it’s a combination of factors. First, the unwavering support of my family and coaching staff has been invaluable. They’ve been my constant cheerleaders. Then, there’s the dedication to training, a constant desire to learn and adapt, and, let’s not forget, a little bit of luck along the way.
For aspiring footballers reading this,what advice would you give them based on your experience?
I’d say never underestimate the power of hard work and dedication.Talent alone is not enough. You need to push yourself, constantly strive to improve, and never give up on your dreams. Believe in yourself even when others doubt you.
