Jokowi Rises Mandalika MotoGP Podium, Gives Champion Trophy

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is scheduled to come directly to the Mandalika Circuit and witness MotoGP Mandalika, March 20. Jokowi is also planned to hand over the trophy to the champion racer on the Mandalika MotoGP podium.

This was stated by the Regent of Central Lombok, Lalu Pathul Bahri, in Praya, Saturday (12/3). Not only watching the race live at the Mandalika Circuit, Jokowi said that then he would be the one to hand over the championship trophy on the Mandalika MotoGP podium.

In addition, Jokowi’s arrival for the umpteenth time on the island of Lombok to check the supporting facilities and infrastructure for the Mandalika Circuit in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) that has been carried out.

“This is a form of the President’s concern for the community, hopefully this MotoGP can have an impact on people’s economic growth,” said Lalu.

Then, he hopes that the community will support and succeed the 2022 Mandalika MotoGP, which is believed to have a large enough impact on tourism growth in Central Lombok in particular.

“We are all obliged to maintain the Mandalika MotoGP event, because the effects that will result from the existence of the SEZ and this circuit will eventually return to the community,” said Lalu.

Prior to attending the Mandalika MotoGP, Jokowi is also scheduled to hold a parade with 20 racers in Jakarta on March 16.
