Judo also takes sides against Vladimir Putin: immediate expulsion

A statement of just three lines, published by the International Judo Federation to formalize the expulsion of the president Vladimir Putin and the oligarch Arkady Rotenberg (among the closest to the president and owner of villas and properties also in Italy) from their respective roles within the top sports institutions of this noble art.

A provision that establishes the position by the FIJafter the suspension by Putin from his post as honorary president a week earlier, when the international situation was already critical.

The International Judo Federation expels Vladimir Putin

An essential press release, the one published by Federation which does nothing but formalize the direction of the world of sport.

“The International Judo Federation announces that Mr. Vladimir Putin and Mr. Arkady Rotenberg have been removed from their respective positions held within the International Judo Federation”, the text of the brief statement.

What is sanctioned with the note that triumphs on the home page of the official site, interrupts a formal partnership that has been going on for some time, since 2008 when Putin he was officially charged with his role in the Federation and became an honorary ambassador; the former official of the Kgb from his youth he had shown great attention to the discipline and actively practiced judo from adolescence, with passion and attention, initiating the young Russian generations to this sport, strengthened in Russia from the work of Putin also acting as these posts.

The grip of the world of sport

The squeeze that the world of sport is implementing against Russian and Belarusian athletes, following the intervention of the THAT IS and singles Federations or of FIfa and Uefais reflected in this expulsion from the top world leaders in judo against Putin and one of the oligarchs considered most loyal and aligned.

The last case, that of letter “Z” on the leotard of the Russian gymnast Ivan Kuliak is an example: the FIG did not believe that it was possible to allow what happened in Doha to fall by the wayside.

Putin and judo: passion, Russia and a book

As a passionate practitioner, Putin has published a kind of sports manual entitled Learn judo with Putin. The history, the technique, the preparationhe had also participated in two world championships (Chelyabinsk in 2014 and Budapest in 2017) and at the Olympic tournament in London in 2012.

As he himself admitted, he approached judo when he was just 13 years old and still today it is one of his personal passions, passions that remain – as much, too much than he is concerned, wrapped in a mystery fueled with sagacity and permeable tools aimed at removing the attention by itself.

This time, however, these three lines have sanctioned the opposite effect compared to the past by removing the entire movement of judo, like the taekwondo who at the federal level anticipated this assessment, from Putin and not the other way around.
