Four athletes, not yet fifteen, of the sports club ‘Omnia Sporting’ of Alcamo will take part in the finals of the Italian ‘cadets’ championship which will take place at the federal center of Ostia Lido (Rome), at the ‘PalaPellicone’, next Saturday and Sunday, 5 and March 6. The judokas, trained by maestro Cristina Cianti, obtained the pass to the regional finals held on February 20 last. The young athletes (born in the years 2005/2006/2007) will now compete with the strongest peers in all of Italy.

Marco Cusimano in the category up to 55 kilograms, Stefano D’Angelo (66 KG) and Ivan Manno (50 KG) will represent Omnia Sporting at the tricolor youth festival, dedicated to the ‘cadet’ category. The Alcamo sports club, at the recent regional championships where it obtained the second place in teams, had also featured Salvatore Quartararo, who came second among the 50 KG: the regulation, however, only gave access to Sicily for the national finals. The Alcamo judokas also obtained a seventh place with Andrea Cataldo (60 KG).

Between 2014 and 2015 the Alcamese Cristiano Grimaudo, a pupil of Cristina Cianti, achieved two splendid placings in the Italian ‘debutant’ championship. The Omnia Sporting judoka, a few years later also included in the list of probable Olympians, managed to win a silver and a bronze medal.
