“With effort, will and love for what we do, nothing is impossible”. It has been demonstrated by teacher Abraham and Roland, his traveling companion in the training of those who find judo one of his passions; Those who believe in dreams and support their realization in one way or another know this, no matter how difficult the road may become.
After more than two years of intense struggle, lovers of one of Mariel’s flagship sports once again have a space to cultivate talent, with the inauguration of the Obi Dorado judo training room.
“Soon we will have the Provincial Championship, and we will not be able to intervene, because during this time the team had nowhere to train. The premises previously used were in poor condition and, by assigning us this space, we had to dedicate ourselves completely to moving it forward,” said Abraham Domínguez, coach of this discipline in the municipality.
“It has been an arduous task. Details remain that with a little support can be resolved. I thank the parents for their unconditional help, entities such as the cement factory, the thermoelectric plant, the port and those who joined in the final stretch.
“Despite the conditions in which we trained, in the stage prior to the pandemic we ranked among the top positions at the provincial level, in different categories. Currently, seven people from Marielle are preparing for the Eide, and another one will enter this year”, he pointed out.
“In Mariel there is talent and the medals are beginning to be harvested at the base. By working intensely, perhaps in a year we will already obtain results”.
