OULX – On 23 and 24 April the finals of the junior senior A2 judo Italian Cup will be held in Ostia at the Palapellicone. In order to participate, athletes from each region must compete in the qualifying competition to gain access to the final. The qualification competitions were held at the Leinì sports hall on Saturday 26 March, in which 131 Piedmontese athletes born between 1987 and 2004 took part. At the event organized by the Piedmont Judo Regional Committee, Oulx judoka Samuel Gros obtained the qualification for the final, climbing on the second step of the podium for the 90 kg category, preceded only by a senior athlete with great experience and moreover from the same club (Akiyama Settimo). Samuel will therefore be the only Piedmontese junior athlete to represent the judo of our region in Rome for the 90 kg category. Hoping, despite his very young age compared to the other judokas present in the 90 kg at the final, that April 23 will bring him good. It will also be the day of his eighteenth birthday, which will pass on the tatami.
