SVF judoka Sven Heinle would like to continue until the Olympic Games, although he has been relegated to the supplementary squad.

When Andre Breitbarth was eliminated in the first round in Rio de Janeiro in the summer of 2016, Sven Heinle was at home as a spectator. The Fellbach judoka also followed Johannes Frey’s defeat in Tokyo last year from the couch at home. The 30-year-old heavyweight was denied participation in the Olympic Games. But Sven Heinle hasn’t given up hope yet. The next major event in Paris is already on the agenda for the summer of 2024, and he would like to be on the mat in the weight class over 100 kilograms. But it doesn’t look like that at the moment. After major restructuring measures at the German Judo Federation (DJB) in the presidium and in the coaching team, Sven Heinle has been reassigned. Instead of being in the Olympic squad or in the perspective squad, he has now slipped into the supplementary squad.
