In the NBA, Kyrie Irving led the Brookyln Nets to their first win after four losses in the NBA with a personal best of the season. The guard scored 50 points in the 132:121 (69:43) away win against the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday (local time).
Irving had 16 points in the final quarter alone and helped the Nets keep the Hornets at bay. In total, the point guard hit nine threes. “It was a master class,” said teammate Kevin Durant. Due to his missing corona vaccination, Irving is still not eligible to play at home games, but this could change as the season progresses.
The brothers Franz and Moritz Wagner lost with the Orlando Magic at home with 99:102 (43:53) against the Phoenix Suns. In the duel against the currently best team in the NBA, the Magic kept up for a long time, Franz Wagner even had the chance to equalize in the final seconds – but his three-pointer was blocked. The rookie scored six points, Moritz Wagner scored twelve points.
Isaiah Hartenstein and the Los Angeles Clippers were beaten away by the Golden State Warriors 97:112 (36:54). After five wins in a row, the Clippers have lost the last two games. The Warriors, for their part, ended a negative streak of five consecutive defeats. Hartenstein had ten points, six rebounds and four assists.
