Labastide-Saint-Pierre. Judo: black belts and success

the essential
The Bastidian Judo-Club has met with great success, crowned this week by the traditional awarding of black belts.

If motivation serves as a starting point, she finds, at the Labastide-Saint-Pierre judo club, a good reason to retain athletes. This week, the judokas from Bastide met on the tatami mats to hand over the black belts through a moment as solemn as it was warm.

In the depth of the great hall, the athletes were lined up carefully to attend this ceremony orchestrated by President Bernard Zulian. “Today, we can be proud, all generations are represented, from the youngest to the dean,” rejoices the president. As proof, the local club has more than 80 licensees. “There are a lot of people present today, with around twenty black belts on the tatami mats. It’s significant”, specifies Bernard Zulian.

From the age of 5, you can come and practice judo bearing in mind to exchange beautiful values, such as that which consists in being happy above all, by using the strength of the adversary to grow.

During his presentation, Bernard Zulian retraces the history of the four recipients of the black belt: Garance Lacrampe, Julien Cezerac, Tom Donnadieu and Ugo Becavin-Zulian, logically in the spotlight. They come to illustrate a prestigious history which has seen 75 black belts trained at the club. “Two athletes have qualified for the second division French championship,” rejoices the president.

Positive dynamic

In the presence of many elected officials, including Mayor Jérôme Beq; his counterparts Marie-Claude Nègre, mayor of Campsas, and Claude Vigouroux, mayor of Reyniès, the moment was particularly symbolic. “We have a moved thought today for the creator of the club, Armand Zulian, who recently passed away”, evoked somehow Bernard Zulian. During his speech, Mayor Jérôme Beq underlined the great vitality of the club. He insisted on the valuable investment of leaders and educators, cornerstone in such a success whose social influence is consequent. With a dose of humour, the mayor also discussed the upcoming arrival of the new association space which will allow the judo club to have an office and a reception room. On the path of flexibility where water, drop by drop, digs the rock, the Bastide competitors continue to progress wisely, imbuing themselves with the values that allow such success. Because the greatest victory is the victory over oneself.
