Tigres End Pachuca’s Unbeaten Streak in Thrilling Liga MX Femenil Match
Pachuca’s extraordinary six-game unbeaten run came to an end on Monday night as they fell 1-0 to Tigres in a fiercely contested Liga MX Femenil clash at the Hidalgo stadium. The match, part of matchday 8 of the Grita México C22 tournament, saw Tigres, perennial powerhouses of the league, emerge victorious against a resolute Pachuca side.
From the opening whistle, Pachuca displayed their attacking intent, relentlessly pressing forward and creating opportunities on both flanks and thru the center. However, Tigres’ defense stood firm, repelling each attack with resilience.
The first real threat came in the 20th minute when Lizbeth Ovalle’s free kick forced Esthefanny Barreras into a crucial save, pushing the ball out for a corner. Pachuca responded with a swift counter-attack, culminating in Lizbeth Ángeles setting up Charlyn Corral in a prime scoring position. Unfortunately, Corral couldn’t capitalize, missing a golden opportunity against Tigres’ goalkeeper, Cecilia Santiago.
Tigres continued to weather the storm, with Barreras making another crucial save to deny Stephany Mayor just before the half-hour mark. Barreras was again called into action moments later, this time thwarting a close-range effort.
Despite Pachuca’s dominance, Tigres struck first just before halftime. Mayor, making her third attempt on goal, finally found the back of the net with a powerful header from a cross on the left flank.
The second half saw Pachuca continue to push for an equalizer. Mia Fishel came close with a header in a promising position, but her effort sailed wide.
In the dying minutes, Corral and viridiana Salazar combined well, but Salazar couldn’t connect cleanly with the resulting pass. Moments later, Corral skillfully evaded two defenders before unleashing a shot that Santiago expertly deflected for a corner.
The final whistle confirmed Tigres’ hard-fought victory, extending their lead at the top of the table to 20 points. Pachuca, now with 16 points, will look to bounce back in their next match against Pumas on Saturday. Tigres, simultaneously occurring, will host Querétaro on monday.
This defeat marks a setback for Pachuca, but their strong performance throughout the match suggests they remain a force to be reckoned with in the Liga MX Femenil.

Looking ahead to the upcoming fixtures, Pachuca faces Pumas on saturday, while Tigres takes on Querétaro. How do you see these matches panning out?
miriam Lopez: Pachuca needs to bounce back quickly if they want to challenge for the title. Pumas is a tough opponent, but I think Pachuca has the quality to get three points. Tigres, conversely, seem almost unstoppable right now.
