Launches April 8, 2022

For its streaming service, Apple was able to exclusively secure the broadcasting rights to the Friday games of Major League Baseball, as was proudly announced at the “peek performance” event. Now we also know when it will start. Apple and Major League Baseball have the first half of the game today „Friday Night Baseball“-Programms 2022 announced, it will start on April 08, 2022.

The first two games that will be broadcast will be the New York Mets vs. the Washington Nationals and the Houston Astros vs. the Los Angeles Angels. Both before and after the game, Friday Night Baseball includes a live show and behind-the-scenes coverage.

German fans look into the tube

Apple will broadcast the first 12 games free of charge for as long as the deal lasts, which can be seen as a field test. According to rumors, this will cost Apple around 85 million US dollars, Apfelpage.de reported. Subscribers to Apple TV + in Germany, however, look into the tube. Initially, Friday Night Baseball will only be available in the United States, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Japan, Mexico, Puerto Rico, South Korea and the United Kingdom. All countries where baseball is much more relevant than in this country.
