The lockout imposed by the holder of Major League Baseball is capable of compromising the regular season. Monday marks the League’s self-imposed deadline for when a new collective agreement should be reached, before regular season matches are canceled. This is the first time in 27 years that regular season matches have been affected by the strike. (2020 season replaced by epidemic.)
During the meeting on Monday, the MLB said they were ready to miss a month of games for the MLBPA and took on a more menacing tone. The athlete Evan Trellich reports it. Earlier this month Commissioner Rob Manfred said missing matches were a “devastating effect” on the game, with hollow words in the weeks that followed. The two sides met Monday at 10:00 ET in Jupiter, Florida and were on the road until the evening. Manfred told a reporter on their site “I work there” After meeting the players at 6pm ET.
