LeBron James Makes NBA History: First Player to Reach 10,000 Points, Rebounds, and Assists

Phoenix – LeBron James carved out a historic milestone on Sunday, becoming the first NBA player ever to achieve a 10,000-point, 10,000-rebound, and 10,000-assist trifecta, despite the los Angeles Lakers falling 140-111 to the Phoenix Suns.

“being the only player in this league to reach this milestone is surreal,” james remarked after posting 31 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. “I’ve always aimed to be versatile—scoring, rebounding, and assisting. To stand alone in this category is something I can’t quite put into words.”

The defining moment came early in the second quarter when James dished a pass to Carmelo Anthony for a three-pointer, marking his 10,000th career assist. This play solidified his place in the record books.

“Every time I achieve something like this, I’m at a loss for words,” James shared. “My mind always goes back to Akron, Ohio—my roots, my journey, and the dreams I had as a kid to make it to this level.”

With 36,824 career points (third all-time),10,004 assists (seventh),and 10,150 rebounds (39th),James is on track to surpass Karl Malone for second place on the all-time scoring list, provided he continues playing through his nagging left knee injury.

After the game, James emerged from the locker room holding a commemorative basketball inscribed with the game’s date and his milestone stats, a keepsake of the historic night.

“My teammates were fast to congratulate me,” James said. “Even my mom sent me a text. I managed to catch the highlights of the first half after the game.”

While the achievement was monumental, it was bittersweet, coming during a lopsided loss in what has been a challenging season for the Lakers.

“It’s an honor to be part of this league,” james reflected. “Regardless of how this season unfolds, I’m focused on the long game. Tonight’s milestone isn’t just about me—it’s for my family, my friends, and everyone who’s been part of my journey.”

Exclusive Interview with Carmelo Anthony: Reflecting on LeBron James' Historic Milestone

Moderator: Welcome,Carmelo Anthony! Thank you for joining us today to discuss LeBron James’ historic achievement. As a former teammate adn close friend, you were on the receiving end of his 10,000th assist. What was that moment like for you?

Carmelo Anthony: It was surreal, man. I mean, to be part of such a monumental moment in basketball history is something I’ll never forget. When lebron passed me the ball, I knew it was special, but I didn’t realize it was the assist until after the game. It’s just a testament to his greatness and versatility.

Moderator: LeBron is now the only player in NBA history with 10,000 points, 10,000 rebounds, and 10,000 assists.Where do you think this places him in the GOAT (Greatest of All Time) conversation?

Carmelo Anthony: Look, I’ve always saeid this—LeBron is in a league of his own. People love to compare him to MJ [Michael Jordan] or Kareem [Abdul-Jabbar], but what he’s doing is unprecedented. To dominate for 20 years and still be at the top of his game? that’s legendary. For me, he’s already the GOAT.

Moderator: Engaging take. But some fans argue that championships are the ultimate measure of greatness. LeBron has four, while Jordan has six.Does that factor into your assessment?

Carmelo Anthony: Championships are important, no doubt, but they’re a team effort.LeBron has carried teams to the Finals almost every year of his career. Look at what he did with Cleveland in 2016—down 3-1 against the Warriors, and he brought them back. That’s greatness. If you’re judging him solely on rings, you’re missing the bigger picture.

Moderator: Fair point. Now, let’s talk about the Lakers’ season. Despite LeBron’s milestone, the team is struggling. Do you think he can turn things around, especially with his knee injury?

Carmelo Anthony: It’s tough, man. Injuries are part of the game, but LeBron’s resilience is unmatched. He’s shown time and time again that he can bounce back. The Lakers have the pieces; they just need to click. But knowing lebron, he’ll do everything in his power to make it happen.

Moderator: Speaking of resilience, LeBron mentioned being inspired by his roots in Akron, Ohio. How much do you think his upbringing has shaped his career?

Carmelo Anthony: Oh, 100%. Akron made him who he is. He’s never forgotten where he came from, and that humility drives him. it’s why he’s so focused on giving back to the community. That’s the real LeBron—a guy who’s always stayed true to himself.
