Phoenix – LeBron James made history on Sunday by becoming the first NBA player ever to achieve 10,000 points, rebounds, and assists in his career, despite the Los Angeles Lakers’ 140-111 loss to the Phoenix Suns.
“Being the only player in this league to reach this milestone reflects how I’ve shaped my game—scoring, rebounding, and assisting,” James remarked after posting 31 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists against the Suns. “It’s surreal to be in a category all by myself. it’s hard to put into words.”
James reached the historic mark by delivering a pass to Carmelo Anthony for a three-pointer early in the second quarter, marking his 10,000th career assist.
“Every time I achieve something like this, I can’t help but reflect on my roots,” he shared. “My mind goes straight to Akron, Ohio—my upbringing, my journey, and the dreams I had of making it to the NBA and excelling at the highest level.”
With 36,824 career points (third all-time),10,004 assists (seventh),and 10,150 rebounds (39th),James is closing in on Karl Malone for the second spot on the all-time scoring list, provided he continues to play through his nagging left knee injury.
After the game, James emerged from the locker room with the game ball tucked under his arm, the date and his milestone inscribed on it in black marker.
“My teammates were fast to congratulate me,” James said. “My mom sent me a heartfelt message, and I managed to catch the highlights later.”
the achievement came during a tough loss in what has been a challenging season, adding a bittersweet note to the evening.
“It’s an honor to be part of this league, and no matter how this season unfolds, you keep pushing for wins in this marathon of a season,” he added. “Tonight was special, not just for me but for everyone who’s been part of my journey.”
LeBron James Makes History: A Milestone Conversation with Carmelo Anthony
Moderator: Welcome, readers, to an exclusive discussion on LeBron James’ historic achievement. Joining me today is none other than NBA legend Carmelo Anthony, former teammate and close friend of LeBron.Melo, thank you for being here. Let’s dive right in. LeBron just became the first player in NBA history to reach 10,000 points, rebounds, and assists. What does this milestone meen to you as someone who’s shared the court with him?
Carmelo Anthony: First off, it’s an honor to be here. What LeBron has done is just amazing. To reach that milestone, especially in a league as competitive as the NBA, speaks volumes about his versatility and longevity. I was there when he got his 10,000th assist—it was a pass to me for a three-pointer.It’s surreal to be part of history like that.LeBron’s ability to impact the game in so many ways is unmatched.
Moderator: That’s a great point. LeBron has always been a triple-threat player—scoring, rebounding, and playmaking. But do you think this achievement cements his legacy as the most versatile player ever?
Carmelo Anthony: Absolutely. When you look at the numbers—36,824 points, 10,150 rebounds, and now 10,004 assists—it’s mind-blowing. There are great scorers, great rebounders, and great passers, but to combine all three at such a high level? That’s LeBron. He’s in a league of his own.
Moderator: Some might argue that while LeBron’s versatility is undeniable, his team’s performance this season—like the 140-111 loss to the Suns—overshadows his individual success. What’s your take on that?
Carmelo Anthony: That’s a fair point, but basketball is a team sport. LeBron can only do so much.Despite the Lakers’ struggles, he’s still putting up elite numbers at 37 years old. The fact that he’s chasing Karl Malone for second on the all-time scoring list while dealing with injuries is a testament to his greatness.
moderator: Let’s talk about that injury. LeBron’s been battling a nagging left knee issue. Do you think he can continue to perform at this level, especially with the toll of age and injuries?
Carmelo Anthony: LeBron’s no stranger to adversity. he’s always found a way to adapt his game as he’s gotten older. I’ve seen him work through injuries before, and I wouldn’t bet against him. He’s too smart and too driven to let anything stop him.
Moderator: Shifting gears, LeBron mentioned how this milestone made him reflect on his roots in Akron, Ohio.As someone who’s known him since high school, how do you think his upbringing shaped the player and person he is today?
Carmelo Anthony: Akron is a big part of who LeBron is. We both came from humble beginnings, and that hunger to succeed is something that stays with you. LeBron’s always been about more than basketball—he’s about giving back and inspiring the next generation. That’s what makes him special.

Carmelo Anthony: I think it’s certain. LeBron’s still playing at an MVP level, and provided that he stays healthy, he’ll break that record. And knowing him,he’ll do it in style.
