Robert Lewandowski scored hat-trick when Bayern Munich went crazy against FC Salzburg. Hat-trick was made in the first 23 minutes, led him to a record.
Bayern Munich won 7-1 when they hosted RB Salzburg at the Allianz Arena, Wednesday (9/3/2022) early morning WIB, in the second leg of the Champions League last 16. The hosts were already 4-0 up at half-time through Lewandowski’s hat-trick and Serge Gnabry’s goal.
Thomas Mueller made two goals in the second half plus goals from Leroy Sane. Salburg had responded through Maurits Kjaergaard, but the difference was too big for them.
For Robert Lewandowski, his three goals against Salzburg made him the player with the fastest hat-trick since kick-off. He improved the record that had lasted since 1996 ago.

The previous record holder was Marco Simone, who scored a hat-trick in the first 24 minutes for AC Milan against Rosenborg.
Lewandowski’s first and second goals were scored from the penalty spot in the 12th and 21st minutes, followed by another goal when the game entered the 23rd minute. These three goals at once made him shot to the top of the list of top scorers.

It was Lewandowski’s 12th goal in the Champions League this season. He overtook the record of Ajax striker Sebastian Haller who collected 11 goals. Haller himself will only play the second leg next week, so the potential for a change of position is still very open.
