RSU basketball players trained by Matīsa Rožlapas played the best game of the season so far. In the first quarter, the team was “pulled” by Luīze Šepte, in the second by Māra Mote and Marta Leimane.
In the third decade, Šepte and Leimane made a decisive breakthrough – they were both able to arrange the shots and executed them with high precision.
Liepāja was in the lead until the middle of the second quarter (26:19), but the second half became the paleest of the season. Injuries and illnesses left a partial impression – Katie Vihmane returned to the field after an 18-day break, Ance Aizsila has not been able to play for three weeks, but the main merit belongs to the good game of RSU.
Šepte and Leimane made a 16: 3 break in the last four minutes of the third quarter, increasing their five-point lead (44:49) more than three times to 47:65.
In the second half, Liepāja did not “fall into” anyone, so the last 14 minutes of regular time passed as guests. RSU made an 11:39 breakthrough during this time, rapidly approaching the fifth place in the main tournament and the quarter-final duel against Liepāja.
