This Tuesday at a press conference, One of Luisa president of the Mexican Football Federation, announced the sanctions for Club Querétaro after the violent acts carried out by fans last Saturday at the Corregidora stadiumhome of the ‘Gallos Blancos’, when they faced Atlas for the closing tournament.

Although it was estimated that Querétaro would be disaffiliated for any competition, finally the punishment was different. The club will have to play behind closed doors for a year, including its women’s team and basic forces, added to this, the bar will have several years of sanction. The directors and the club were also sanctioned.

The sanctions received by Querétaro

– Querétaro loses 3-0 the match against Atlas
– Veto to La Corregidora: The property in Querétaro will not be able to receive fans for a year; however, Gallos Blancos will be able to play there.
– Playing behind closed doors includes the Women’s branch and Basic Forces
– Fine of 1.5 million pesos
– The current board is suspended for 5 years by Femexfut (Gabriel Solares, Adolfo Ríos, Greg Taylor and Manuel Velarde)
– Querétaro returns to the administrative control of Grupo Caliente
– The owners have to sell the team within a year
– Querétaro animation group will not be able to attend local games for 3 years, and one year as a visitor

Atlas banned for six months

On the other hand, Yon de Luisa also spoke of a sanction for the Atlas bar, after finding evidence in which they determined that there was provocation. The red and black club will have its bar banned for away games for a period of six months.

“The Disciplinary Commission found evidence where it was possible to see that there were provocations by barristas from the Atlas club and for that there is a sanction, but it is much less because the terrible and dramatic aggressions that we saw on Saturday in La Corregidora were caused by the Querétaro bar” , stated the President of FXF.
