As 2019, the town has hosted an impressive array of events, including 15 regional tournaments within the Yangtze River Delta, three national youth baseball championships, and numerous local competitions. This baseball fever has attracted nearly 200 teams, over 7,000 athletes and their families, and even the prestigious Babe Ruth Baseball League, the world’s largest youth baseball organization, which has established a presence in China, choosing Lindai as its “China Youth Baseball Team U10 Training Base.”
Strategically located just a short 15-minute drive from pinghu’s urban center, the Lindai Baseball base is more than just a playing field. It’s a comprehensive complex featuring distinct areas for entrance landscaping, practice preparation, competitive matches, waterfront recreation, and a captivating baseball culture exhibition. Recognized for its multifaceted approach,the base serves as a baseball exchange and training hub,a rural revitalization on-site teaching point,and a social practice base for Zhejiang University School of Public Governance. Its excellence has earned it the esteemed title of “Excellent Project of Sports and leisure Tourism in Zhejiang Province.”
Lindai Town’s commitment to baseball extends beyond the field. Recognizing the sport’s potential to drive rural tourism, the town has invested in the growth of two picturesque villages, “Shuiyun Sunbang” and “Guoxiang Yujiabang,” enhancing the region’s capacity to welcome visitors. This strategic integration of sports and tourism has created a unique “agriculture + sports + tourism” development model, directly benefiting local communities.
Further amplifying the economic impact of baseball, Lindai Town has fostered collaborations with local businesses to design and manufacture baseball-related merchandise, including uniforms, caps, and bags. An animation design company was commissioned to create a distinctive logo and mascot, “茏茏,” for the baseball stadium, further expanding the reach of the sport through cultural and creative products. This vertical integration, from sporting events to merchandise and cultural products, showcases Lindai’s innovative approach to leveraging baseball for enduring growth.in a remarkable display of community engagement, Lindai Town has also developed baseball-themed homestays and farmhouses, inviting tourists to experience the unique charm of the region.
