Empowering Women through Self-Defense: A Lissone Initiative

Lissone is taking a proactive approach too womenS safety and empowerment with a new self-defense course.

Starting March 18th, the Judo Club Lissone Asd, in collaboration with the Municipality of Lissone, will host a 13-week program at the Dante school gym in via Volturno. This initiative, running until June 10th, aims to equip women with the knowlege and skills to feel more confident and secure in their daily lives.

“This initiative, launched shortly after International Women’s Day, reflects our commitment to both sports and social well-being,” states Renzo Perego, Lissone’s councilor for sport. “We are grateful to the Judo Club Lissone Asd, a pillar of our community since 1970, for spearheading this valuable program. The presence of Natale Casagrande, a renowned federal instructor and head of federal technicians, ensures the program’s high quality and educational value.”

The course will delve into crucial aspects of self-defense, including prevention strategies, effective defense techniques against aggression, and cultivating a confident demeanor to deter potential attackers. Participants will learn practical skills to protect themselves in various scenarios, weather standing or on the ground.

“Prevention, attitude, and defense form the core of this self-defense course,” explains the Judo Club Lissone. “We aim to empower women with the tools to counter potential violence and feel safe in any situation. This initiative builds upon the success of similar programs we’ve hosted in the past, which saw meaningful community engagement.”

With a maximum capacity of 30 participants, the course is free to register, with a nominal €20 fee to cover insurance costs. Interested individuals can pre-register by calling 335.8005710 or register directly at the Dante gym on March 18th starting at 9:15 pm.

This initiative highlights Lissone’s dedication to creating a safer and more empowering habitat for it’s female residents. By equipping women with self-defense skills and knowledge,the program aims to foster greater self-confidence and a sense of security within the community.
