Former top footballer Luc Nilis (54) becomes striker trainer at the Talent Academy of KRC Genk. He will start immediately from next Monday, the Limburgers announced.
“This is how one of the very best Limburg footballers ever comes back home,” it sounds. “Luc joined the first team of Winterslag as a young talent and the Zonhovenaar subsequently became a much-loved star at Anderlecht and a real legend at PSV. He was already working as a striker trainer in Eindhoven.”
“Genk is a top club with a great youth academy,” says the ex-Red Devil himself. “I’m looking forward to working with those attacking talents, working with them on details and taking them to the next level.”
Dimitri de Condé, Head of Football: “With Luc Nilis we are bringing a real Limburg football icon to our club. We’ve had some conversations in the past, and I’m glad we’re going to work together now. I have never seen anyone with a better kicking technique than Luc.”
Nilis will mainly focus on guiding the attackers of the oldest age categories. In addition to his new role as striker trainer, Luc Nilis will also remain active as head coach of Belisia Bilzen.
