Marbella kicks off this Thursday a new edition of the MAPFRE Wheelchair Tennis League – Publimetro México

The Malaga town of Marbella will open this Thursday a new edition of the MAPFRE Chair Tennis League, a circuit that this season will have a total of ten events and that will recover the National Master with the eight best in the ranking.

This will be the third campaign of this league, which was born in 2020 to alleviate the effects of the pandemic promoted by the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation (RFET), which aims to “join forces and value the work that tournament organizers of chair tennis they have done for so many years”, according to Javier Soler, sports director of the federation, who will also maintain the financial aid that was put in place after the pandemic

The circuit where you can see players like Martín de la Puente, Dani Caverzaschi or Kike Síscar, among others, will open with the XIV National City of Marbella Open, which will be followed by the XXIV Almussafes Wheelchair Tennis Open in Valencia on 21 to April 24.

Later there will be a short break until June, where the II Zaragoza Open will be held from 2 to 5, and a longer one that will last until September where the XXII Open Cidade de Ferrol will be held consecutively in A Coruña (1-4) and the I National Open ‘Cruz de la Victoria de Asturias’ (5-8), before closing the month with the XI City of Albacete Wheelchair Tennis Trophy (22-25) and the IX National Open City of Móstoles FMT -FMDDF (October 29-2).

The XXXI National Open ‘Wheelchair Tennis Championship of Catalonia’, which will be held between October 20 and 23, will be the last test before the National Master’s dispute, which has not been played since 2019 and which will host in November, on dates yet to be confirmed, the Barcelona town of Les Franqueses del Vallès, and the XXXII MAPFRE Spanish Championship, which Pamplona will host between December 14 and 17.
